What is a sworn translator approved by the Ministry?
A sworn translator is a a person who translates and certifies the truthfulness and accuracy of the content of an official document with their signature and seal, using the formula approved by the Ministry of Cooperation and Foreign Affairs. A sworn translator can translate into Spanish and viceversa and can work in the whole Spanish terrtory.
Is a translation from a certified translation company valid?
The translation must be always signed by a sworn translator duly authorised by the Ministry. Sworn translators can work in a company or on their own.
Is a sworn translator the same as a traslator approved by the Ministry?
Yes, it is. A sworn translator must be duly authorised and approved by the Ministry.
Do I need to apostille the translation?
No, you don’t. Once you have an official document duly apostilled, the sworn translator will translate the document and the apostille but it is not necessary to apostille the translation as the validity of the content is certified by the sworn translator.
Do I have to translate my bank certificate?
For immigration procedures, all the documents in other languages must be translated into Spanish.
Do I need to translate my transcript into Spanish?
If you are going to submit to the Immigration Office, you just need the degree certificate or diploma. However, we always recommend to submit as many documents as posible to have a complete file that can guarantee the appoval of your procedure.

A sworn translator is meant to be the person that can translate and certify the content of different type of official documents from a language into Spanish and viceversa.
Where can I get a certified translator?
We offer sworn tranlator services for your documents that need to be translated into Spanish from English and viceversa. Our translator is duly appointed by the Ministry of Cooperation and Foreign Affairs.
How do you certify a translation document?
You can certify a translation document by hiring a sworn translator duly appointed and authorised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who will carry out the translation and will stamp the signature and sealed.
What is an official translation?
It is a document signed and sealed by a sworn translator that has the same validity as the original document.
How do you know if a translator is certified?
A certifed or sworn translator in Spain has a number appointed by the Ministry of Cooperation and Foreign Affairs and has a diploma. Our translator has the number 10903.
How much does a sworn translation cost?
There are different requiremens to provide a budget for a translation. You can write us an email and we can give you one for your document. In general terms, for example a birth or marriage certificate, a degree certificate or a criminal record certificate may cost around 60 euros plus V.A.T.
Is it necessary to find a sworn translator to translate an official document?
Yes, it is necessary and it is mandatory. If you do not translate your documents with a sowrn translator duly appointed by the Ministry, your documents will not be valid.
Which type of documents need to be translated by a sworn translator?
All the official documents. Some official documents are: degree certificates, bank certificates, marriage, birth and death certificates, criminal records, affidavits, bank statements, contracts, medical certificates, articles of association…
