Q: Where can I get a sworn/certified translator in Spain?
A: You just need go to the list of the oficial sworn translator duly appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This list is updated every time they appoint new translators.

Q: Can I apostille and translate my birth certificate/economical means document in the US and submit it for my residence permit application?
A: According to the article 15 of the Law 39/2015, they require oficial documents to be translated by a sworn translator certified by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Spain. The original texts specifies that the language of the documents required for the procedures of the General Administration will be Spanish, excepting some cases where the different regions accept the coofficial language. Nevertheless, the common language will be Spanish and these documents will only be valid if the have been translated by a sworn translator.
Q: Do all the pages in a sworn translation must be signed and stamped?
A: Yes, they do. When a sworn translator completes the translation o fan oficial document they must sign and stamp every page of the translation. They also have to stamp and sign a copy of the original document and hand in along with the translation to the client.
Q: Can I provide the translator with statements I download from the institution’s website or do I need to send original statements from the institution to be translated?
A: Yes, you can. As long as they have all the information required for your application (your name, balance, date, type and number od account)
Q: I found a translator who claims he is sworn but could not find him on the list of translators, is he certified?
No he is not. It is important you find the translator in the official list
Q: Are sworn translations accepted if they have been electronically signed?
A: The Office of Sworn/Certified Translators of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on April 2020 that the electronic signature of a certified translator is now valid .
